Call for abstracts

The JSWK9 Program Committee invites proposals for presentations at the 2027 JSWK9 Meeting. To provide the best platform for sharing ideas, we offer categories for scientific research presentations and practitioner-focused presentations, as well as opportunities for oral presentations (including brief lightning talks, “Zoomies”) and poster presentations.

(CLOSED) CALL FOR TOPICS

The JSWK9 Program Committee invites proposals for topics at the 2027 JSWK9 Meeting. Topics should be of interest to the K9 community such as, conservation detection, working dog fitness, and forensic applications. Option to serve as topic proposal session chair allows for curation of speakers and moderation of topic session at the event (CV/resume required).

Proposals should include:
1- Brief description of the topic and the impact for K9 community
2- Name, affiliation and email (if available) of 3-5 suggested presenters on your proposed topic 

Topics will be chosen to balance themes across the discipline and selection will prioritize impactful research that bridges science and operations.

(CLOSED) Call for Workshops

We invite you to submit proposals for workshops (March 2nd, 2027) that provide hands-on learning experiences. In a 2 or 4 hour session, you will lead participants through engaging activities that emphasize active participation, fostering discussions and collaborative problem-solving.

Being a Workshop facilitator is a valuable opportunity to help attendees enhance their personal and professional skills, gain practical knowledge, and engage with experts in a dynamic, learning-focused environment.

Proposals should include:

1- Brief description of the workshop and the impact for K9 community

2- Workshop Learning Objectives (3-5)

3- Name, affiliation and CV of all instructors/co-instructors on your proposed topic

4- Intended audience (e.g. general, participant with dog, number of participants)

5- Equipment and facility needs/requirements
